Novels EP →
The Born Ruffian’s Luke Lalonde and some guys from Tokyo Police Club made a five song EP you can listen to at radio3. It’s all very laid back, and very comfortable.
Bitter Draught
Driftwood Dead fall Fallen leaves Frozen grass Cancer patient I feel the swift descent into pain, heavy heart I know deeper the tears of blood He shed in Gethsemane Knowing Waiting Alone On your knees In the garden Cold dew mocking Plunged underneath the surface of this pseudo-death I drink your sufferings Fill my belly My mind So that when you resurrect me again to richness, beauty Transplant me...
Taking Stock Advice From My Dad
mybiggestregretever:
My biggest regret ever is listening to my Dad regarding the purchase of stock. Many years ago I had several thousand dollars cash in my wallet and I asked my Dad about investing in stocks. He said that it was “a rich man’s game” and warned me away from buying roughly $10,000 worth of Microsoft almost immediately after it went public.

Oh snap.

Your conversational partner has disconnected.
I think I just discovered something sad.
Marmaduke (Yes, the live action movie) Is The... →
Marmaduke is like a teenager—self-conscious, insecure, struggling to pick an identity and not hump it, afraid of going to the vet to get neutered. Obviously there’s a reason why the first draft of John Hughes’ The Breakfast Club ended with, “You see us as you want to see us…but what we found out is that each one of us is a brain, and an athlete, and a basket case, and a...

Phenomenal movie.
I just spit my tea.
New Vampire Weekend Song - White Sky →
Very fun, very nice. Seems like a good balance between their new electro-pop feel and their more recognizable style.
Allowing Regret to Control Me
mybiggestregretever:
My biggest regret ever is allowing regret to control me. It’s pushed me to dark places in my mind that I wish I had never visited. If I had learned to move past things better I could have done so much more thus far in my life.

Haha, I think mybiggestregretever didn’t notice this as a sly jab at their blog.
Vimeo Sued By Capitol Records Over Lip Dubs →
justin:
zachklein:
I roared with a belly laugh when I read this headline. Could Capitol Records truly be this misguided? Do they not realize that if you were to sort Internet brands by those most emblematic of creativity — not piracy — that Vimeo would line up at the top? Lip-dubbing is harmless and perfectly fun, and ultimately will define the aesthetic of an Internet generation. Other than...

Menomena - Friend or Foe →
One of the most incredibly underrated bands ever. Menomena has an incredible knack for stitching together the alien and the organic seamlessly. The songs are incredibly dynamic (See Wet and Rusting) and often a searing rush of beauty (My My). The intense, almost robotic drumming lays a solid yet shaking foundation below pounding keys and screeching guitars on The Pelican to make something that...
Squirrels
I just saw a chubby squirrel jump into a large garbage can on campus. I threw a snowball in to see what it would do. It squirmed out of there, turned around, stared for thirty seconds, looked around, and jumped back in.
Before I entered my dorm, I turned and saw another student throw a snowball in. History repeats.
jj fringe
I was listening to jj’s “Ecstasy” when the episode of fringe I had paused randomly began playing without my knowing. A character said “Where are you” in perfect synchrony with the song. Coincidences are insane.
Stem cells 'reverse' MS in Canberra man →
Stem Cells truly are the solution for so many medical dilemmas. Incredible.

sitting across from Phil in a booth at the Acoustic, hoagie in hand and special sauce dripping down my wrist, when a small group of college kids got up onto the little dais and looked out into the crowd. Curious, I watched as they began to sing.

Heard at UW-Stout.
Why yes,
I did just write 6 pages of excellently BS’d Economics in the last hour.
Phat-free
What’s that? A summer job? LOL, that’s so phat-free (generational translation: not cool).
This Economics article I’m summarizing clearly has a robust grasp on our phat teen lingo. OMG how lamesauce. The title is (and I’m being serious): OMG! Like, where are all the teen workers?
Wow.
