A passage from Deep’s Thoughts.

The desire to fight, sweaty pent up fury of a punch. The run. The running around and over and through. The climbing of trees. The punching of trees. Pushing yourself hard into something you know will not yield, the simple refusal to yield is an equal power. You do not fight to win, you fight to fight. To equal. The world is full of things too great for you to move, the world is too large to push or bend out of orbit. That immovability shouldn’t be measured by the magnitude of impossibility to you, your tiny human shell. The immovability itself is a one, a statement of existence and a refusal to cease existing or compromise in any way the extent, the greatness of current existence. The denial of external power, the focusing of internal power.

To run you are one, to forget simply the mean of your movement and accept the inevitability of it’s continuation. The continuation of yourself flowing. The continuation of water, flowering over rocks and burbling into any shape it need to continue it’s continuation.

Stepping lightly over a fallen tree, delicate toeing it’s moss and throwing ‘just so’ your weight, pressing just as long as it takes to swing further yet again, into a hurtle against a branch.

You have a name, too. You have been born, and you have spent this time somehow. The minutes become minutes again, time becomes a place again, the memories are places in time. Places you’ve seen will never be the same again, and even if you place the pieces in that particular puzzle, whatever the puzzle may be, if you place them together again in a precise order, with all of the major players and queens and pawns in place, with all of the same war orders, all of the same secret desires, all of the same removal and addition of inhibitions, you’ll find that the plane of the puzzle has shifted again. The pieces may still fit, but the product of that fitting is as disparate as the reflection of a bridge on water, always scattering always staggering away from some Euclidean picture of a bridge in this or that spring, the picture doesn’t exist.

You as the image of you, you do not exist. You are not prototypical; you are not a clean palette every morning. You are simply the moment you have chosen to inhabit. Sleeping is not resetting, you sit there idle as you breath and refuse to move. You sit there idle because you’ve given yourself to this place. You’ve given up on the waking of that very moment. Oh fuck I can’t do it, you may have said, and maybe forgetting how to DO entirely and spending time in the metaschtick of your dreams, you would learn something. But what you’ve learned is failure, what you’ve learned is that oh fuck I can’t do it. I can’t do it. You can do it.
